Word from Louisville is that Yonder Alonso will be joining the Bats for their playoff run. If you follow me on Twitter, then you knew that last night. If you aren’t following me on Twitter, you probably should be.

The Louisville Examiner has a short question & answer with Chris Heisey. Go give it a read.

Dayton’s win last night ties them for the final playoff spot in the Midwest League. The problem is they must win outright if they don’t sweep the team they are currently playing over this 3 game series. I think I am heading up tonight to watch the Dragons play and hopefully pick up another win.

Drew Stubbs had another big day for the Reds. I have been having some in depth discussions about his value and what it would take for him to be a league average center fielder. Given the value of his glove, Stubbs could probably be a .670-690 OPS bat and still have league average value as a center fielder.

With the GCL Season over I wrote an article on the All GCL Team for FirstInning.com. Juan Silva got an honorable mention on the team.

Jay Bruce and Ryan Hanigan will both be joining the Louisville Bats for rehab assignments as they make a push toward the playoffs.
