The Minor League season is done except for the Billings Mustangs who have four games left and the Louisville Bats, who will be heading to the playoffs.
Louisville will start the best of five series on the road in Durham taking on the Bulls starting on Wednesday. They did get a reinforcement though in Yonder Alonso, who was promoted to AAA for the playoffs after hitting a combined .300/.379/.482 in Sarasota and Carolina over 322 plate appearances. Here are the pitching match ups for the first three games of the series:
- Ben Jukich vs Jeremy Hellickson
- Travis Wood vs Mitch Talbot
- Jason Cromer vs Sam Lecure
Yonder Alonso not only was promoted to AAA to help the Bats in the playoffs, he also was named the Southern League Hitter of the Week.
Drew Stubbs continues to be a lightning rod at the major league level among Reds fans. Over at Redszone there is a 600+ post topic going on about Stubbs having no power at all, being a 4th outfielder and being lucky. My brain hurts every time I have to reply to another response over there.
