I went through the AFL Data to find a few pieces of information.
- Hardest fastball – 97 MPH by Brad Boxbergeer
- Swinging strike rate – Ondrusek (10.8%), Leake (10.7%), Boxberger (9.7%) and Watson (9.5%).
- Strikes thrown rate – Ondrusek (68%), Leake (67.8%), Watson (64.4%) and Boxberger (61.8%).
I will have more in depth breakdowns on the guys later this week.
Project Prospect posted its catchers Top 15 (no Reds) and now has officially gone through each position. The Reds had five guys make the different lists (Alonso, Frazier, Francisco, Heisey and Leake). Going off of the work that Kevin Dame is doing at TheHardballTimes, I decided to make a similar ‘Word Cloud’ graphic for the 30 Teams based on a point system for the Project Prospect rankings. I took all players and gave them 2-30 points for a 15-1 vote and 1-30 for the 30 pitchers and then added up each teams points, multiplied by 2 and then divided by 3 to give me a Font Size to use for each team in the graphic. Here is the result:
Anyways I just thought that was pretty cool. The Cardinals actually can’t be read as their font was at 0.4.
