Mark Sheldon has an article up on Chris Heisey. The article is nice, but there are also several video clips on the page of Heisey as well for those who haven’t seen much of him.

The Hardball Times’ Matt Hagan (former writer along with me at a previous website I ran) has up the Reds Top 10 prospects in his latest fantasy column, so it is likely tilted some toward fantasy baseball. Here is his list:

  1. Yonder Alonso – loves the approach, wonders how much power he will have.
  2. Mike Leake – Future #2 who should move quickly.
  3. Aroldis Chapman – Good stuff, bad control and seems immature. Wants to see more before he buys in.
  4. Juan Francisco – Continues to improve with above average power.
  5. Travis Wood – Fell in love with the numbers, plus change up is legit.
  6. Todd Frazier – Lots of gap power, but looks like an average outfielder unless the HR power grows.
  7. Chris Heisey – Much like Frazier, looks like an average outfielder with 15-20 HR power.
  8. Matt Maloney – Should settle in nicely as a back of the rotation pitcher.
  9. Devin Mesoraco – Solid peripherals, bat has taken longer than expected to develop.
  10. Brad Boxberger – Unsure about his future role, but has three good pitches that will work in either one of them.

The MinorLeagueBall.com community ranked Yonder Alonso as the #30 prospect in baseball.
