Project Prospect released its Top 50 prospects list over the weekend. With the Top 25 list the Reds had to guys listed, Yonder Alonso and Mike Leake.  In the Top 50 the Reds have 3 more players. Aroldis Chapman and Todd Frazier come back to back at #32 and #33 on the list. Chris Heisey makes an appearance at #39 as well. That is going to be the highest ranking you see for Heisey this offseason and likely the highest for Frazier as well.

Minor League Splits has up players 2009 Spray Charts now for all levels. Go check them out.

John Erardi wrote an article on Chris Heisey and Todd Frazier for the Enquirer over the weekend. More of a background thing that new information, but still worth checking out.

Juan Francisco had an up and down Carribean Series so far. Wednesday Francisco went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts. Thursday he went 0-4 with 3 more strikeouts and also added his 2nd and 3rd errors of the series. In Friday’s Dominican Republic loss Francisco went 2-4 with a double and 2 runs batted in. Saturday saw a 2-2 performance with a HR, HBP, sac fly and 3 RBI. Sunday Francisco went 1-5 with 3 more strikeouts and his 4th error in 6 games, though his lone hit was an RBI double that he also later scored on. That came in a win for the Dominican Republic, who at 5-1 clinched the Carribean Series.

For those into the draft and draft prospects, super prospect Bryce Harper is through his first week of college baseball (the league he plays in uses wooden bats too, which I wish all college teams would go to) and the 17 year old is hitting .323/.405/.677 with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts. There is plenty of video here, including both HR’s and a few extra base hits.

Kind of baseball related – I got a new phone this weekend, the Droid Eris. Anyone know of any free, but still good baseball apps that I should look into?
