Cincinnati Reds 37th round selection: Nicholas Sawyer, RHP, Hebron HS (TX)

Scouting Report

From Perfect Game USA

RHP/SS Nick Sawyer (Hebron HS, Carrollton, TX): Sawyer does everything on the field well, including play both shortstop and the outfield at a very high level and swing the bat with power. He topped at 90 mph on the mound with a hard, sharp curveball and a feel for his pitches. Colleges should be all over him for his two-way ability.

Has reportedly hit 92 MPH this spring.

I like his bat speed, but his swing currently doesn’t seem like its built for much power.
