Every Thursday we look back at five players who had the best week from the hitting side of things and five from the pitching side of things. Here’s who was hot for the Cincinnati Reds down on the farm last week.

The Hitters

Phillip Ervin | Daytona Tortugas

Ervin continued the strong start to his 2015 season with another big week. The Tortugas outfielder hit .348/.448/.783 with three home runs, five walks, seven runs and seven RBI. Half of his hits went for extra-base hits.

Ivan De Jesus | Louisville Bats

The Bats infielder has gotten off to the best start among all the Louisville players on the offensive side of the ball and last week he continued it. De Jesus hit .400/.419/.533 with three extra-base hits, a steal, four runs and four runs driven in.

Sammy Diaz | Daytona Tortugas

While his action was slightly limited it’s hard to keep Diaz off of the list after hitting .500 over the last week. The Daytona infielder had two doubles and a home run to go with five runs scored and seven runs driven in despite just 16 plate appearances.

Ty Washington | Dayton Dragons

The Dragons infielder hit .278/.316/.667 on the week, showing off extra base power as all of his hits went for doubles or triples. Washington drove in six runs on the week and scored two more.

Garrett Boulware | Dayton Dragons

Another guy with some limited playing time, but over 13 plate appearances he hit .545/.583/.909. Boulware also scored three runs and drove in seven more.

The Pitchers

Amir Garrett | Dayton Tortugas

The left hander made two starts last week for Daytona and posted a 1.64 ERA over 11.0 innings pitched. He walked just three batters and struck out 13 of the 43 that he faced (30.2%) while showcasing a 1.09 WHIP.

Dylan Axelrod | Louisville Bats

Axelrod also made two starts last week and he posted a 2.84 ERA in 12.2 innings for the Louisville Bats. The right hander walked just two opposing hitters and he had 12 strikeouts to go along with his 1.18 WHIP.

Jake Ehret | Dayton Dragons

The right handed reliever only made one appearance last week but he made it count in a big way. Ehret tossed 2.2 perfect innings of relief and struck out six of the eight batters that he faced.

Layne Somsen | Pensacola Blue Wahoos

Somsen stepped into a spot start for Pensacola in a double header and the right hander threw 5.0 shutout innings of baseball. He allowed just three base runners in the game, facing just two over the minimum while striking out three batters.

Wyatt Strahan | Dayton Dragons

Strahan made one start last week for Dayton and he tossed 5.0 innings with only an unearned run against him to go along with one walks and seven strikeouts.
