I am a little bit late to this party as both Redleg Nation and Red Reporter announced this yesterday, but I wasn’t able to fully commit to being there until late last night. The two awesome sites are having a joint meetup for their writers and readers. As a writer at Redleg Nation, I will be in attendance, though even if I weren’t I would be there anyways because the guys that I’ve met from both places are awesome.

All of the details aren’t set yet, but the important one is. It will be taking place on Saturday the 3rd of September here in Cincinnati. The Reds play the Cardinals that day at Great American Ballpark. The game is also Eugenio Suarez Bobblehead day, so the crowd should be quite strong.

There is also going to be, what Chad Dotson is referring to as an “optional event either before or after the game”. Probably just a get together at an establishment close to the ballpark for socialization.

Anyways, I know that some of you have talked about having a get together with the other readers of the site at a game over the years. While this technically expands on that idea to other sites, I’m definitely going to be there short of something unexpected happening. If you’re interested in going, head on over to Redleg Nation to check everything out with more details.

Back in action

As some of you may have picked up on between reading the site and my twitter feed over the past few weeks, I’ve been having some real issues with my computer. My laptop crapped out on my while in Pensacola, and it’s been with Microcenter every day that I’ve been back in Cincinnati (August 1st) with the exception of a 14 hour period when I picked it up from the service desk, only to get it home and find out that it wasn’t actually fixed. I mean, it worked, but it didn’t work properly, so I took it back the next morning. After dealing with customer service they agreed to let me exchange it for store credit (I bought it in May) yesterday. Rather than go back down the laptop road, I decided to buy all of the parts and build a desktop PC.

Well, it’s built and good to go. I’ve still got to install some software on it, but I’m really looking forward to being able to share a lot of the video that I got while I was in Florida both here on the site and over at Youtube (which, if you aren’t subscribed to the RedsMinorLeagues Youtube channel, uh, what are you waiting for?).

Things should hopefully be back to normal on my end starting later today, which means that my workflow is improved and I can pump out more, and better content than I have for the last three weeks or so while working on lesser machines that truly limited what I was able to do.
