Each year the Arizona Fall League has what they call the Fall Stars Game in the middle of the season. It isn’t an All-Star game in the traditional sense. It’s more of a showcase for the top prospects in the league rather than a game for those who have performed the best during the limited season. This year the Cincinnati Reds will be represented by two of their top prospects. Outfielder Taylor Trammell and second baseman Shed Long will play in the game on Saturday.

The game can be watched on MLB Network on Saturday night at 8pm ET. As I type this Shed Long is hitting .242/.359/.303 with six walks and seven strikeouts in 11 games played. Taylor Trammell is hitting .227/.277/.295 in 11 games with three walks and 10 strikeouts. Both are in the lineup today for the Scottsdale Scorpions, so those numbers can and will change before the end of the day.

Over the weekend Jose Siri had a nice set of games for Gigantes del Cibao. He went 3-7 with a double, run scored, and an RBI. The power hasn’t started showing up yet in the Dominican Winter League this season through his 12 games played, but the rest of the game is showing up.

On October 19th Dilson Herrera got hit by a pitch in the hand and left the game for Licey. He didn’t play for over a week in the Dominican Winter League, but he returned to the lineup on Sunday. Herrera has only played in six games thus far, getting out to a slow start – hitting .174/.296/.217 in 23 at-bats.
