For the second night in a row the Billings Mustangs playoff game has been suspended by rain. This game was originally started on Tuesday night, earlier than initially scheduled because of incoming rain. The game made it 9 outs before the tarp was pulled on with Billings leading 1-0. On Wednesday night the game was pushed back, from the original start time of 7pm ET to an 8pm ET start. Then it was bumped to a 9pm ET start. At 9:15pm the game was announced as suspended and that it would be resumed on Thursday at 3pm ET.

The winner of the game will advanced to the Pioneer League Championship Series to face off against the Ogden Raptors, who had the best record in the league.

Might be a benefit for Mustangs as it puts Omar Conoropo in play out of the bullpen tomorrow otherwise he would not have been available in the series again.

I’m a few hundred miles south of Montana here in Utah but we had gushing rain most of the day today. We need it. Billings may not.

I’m in Utah too. Planning (hoping) to head up to Ogden to see a Mustangs game on Saturday.

Nope, we don’t need the rain in MT right now, as it’s been a wonderfully wet summer. BUT not only was it raining, but it was darned cold (temps in the mid-to-upper 40s). Clear skies today, so they’ll get the game in.

Billings didn’t play the Orem Owlzz this year. Orem is closer to me (South Jordan) than Ogden is.
