He’s got 2 homers since joining Louisville this week, but has also struck out 8 times in 23 plate appearances.

Nothing against Farmer but I think pretty much everyone is looking forward to and anticipating the Barrero call up.

Cedrola is on fire, watch him out…
The Reds farm system sensations [Greene, Ashcraft] gonna pitch today. Stay in tune…

It sounds like Cedrola is due for a promotion soon

One thing that interests me, is that Cedrola is a full year younger than TJ Hopkins who was drafted in 2019 out of college, while Cedrola was acquired in trade in 2018. He’s certainly caught my attention with his production this year. He’s playing all three OF spots with the majority in RF this season. He appears to have good speed (7 triples in 2019), and may be growing into a bit of power. 15 xbh so far in 2021 in 194 PA, compared to 18 xbh in 381 PA in 2019. 4 HRs this season compared to only 1 (2 HRs combined in 2018-19 seasons) in Daytona. Good signs.

Cedrola has some good write-ups in BA from when he was in the Red Sox system and they do a very good job scouting snd drafting international players. He is, though, very small ( 5’8″ 150-160). Bip Roberts more so than a Bregman or even Ronald Torreyes. But, like Alejo Lopez, he is also a guy who sprays line drives all over the field, and adds really good speed and defense, too. So I think he is beginning to show some pretty good value. He also pads our CF depth, which I’d been concerned with lately. TJ Friedl, don’t look back, somebody might be gaining. .

Looking at who’s coming back for the Reds and who’s been performing lately, I don’t see Feliz making it back to Cincinnati. Lorenzen, Hoffman, and Santillan are on the immediate horizon.
I can see the Reds replacing Gutierrez with Hoffman, and Hendrix&Perez with Lorenzen&Santillan.
Who’s left that Feliz is an improvement over? Maybe Doolittle, but Antone probably gets his spot after the all-star break.

DFAing Feliz also gets you the 40 man spot needed for Lorenzen.

At the time, claiming Feliz was a grasp at straws for improving the bullpen. Even though his career hadn’t faired all that well, he was doing well with the Pirates, whom had no room for him. So, the claim was warranted at the time. He won’t be back with the Reds.

Wonder if we could get the TB Mallet smith?
Doubt it, just thought been having.

Sanmartin reinstated and Santillan makes first relief appearance. Greene not sharp today. Schrock should replace Freeman as a backup IF with the Reds.
