Brandon Finnegan is quietly putting together a nice string of outings. Over his last seven appearances, Finnegan has not given up any runs. He has pitched nine innings, allowing just 4 hits while striking out 9.
With an ERA of 5.00 after last night’s outing, the really good run of innings must follow a really bad run of innings. Hope the good run continues and that he is rewarded for his perseverance in attempting to come back from the abyss. .
Wow, a very tough night for Ashcraft… he is human…
Correct. He is human, Greene is human, Lodolo is human
I hope no one wants to post that AshcrAft (note the spelling) is a bust, like they wanted to after Greene had (and still has) some bumps along the road when he began in AAA
Oh—Reds Getting Better—the spelling was not aimed at you
Ivan Johnson since coming back from the IL – 278/367/506, 11 walks vs 16 Ks. 12 XBH.
Doug. I know the newly drafted players will go to Arizona for a while to get in shape and evaluation but was wondering how soon the college players would start showing up in Daytona. Do you think any of the pitchers could start in Dayton?
I wouldn’t expect any of them to be anywhere but Arizona for at least the next two weeks. After that we’ll probably see a few guys head to Daytona. Not sure anyone jumps up to Dayton.
Doug, how does the roster size work at the minor league level, they have to have limits like the majors, correct? If some of the new draft picks move up to Daytona I am guessing that someone has to move out (move down, released, etc), correct?
Thanks
Think of past history college guys like Senzel, India, Lodolo all started in rookie ball for a few weeks then about the last month came to LowA Dayton. Lodolo didn’t do much due to his college workload. If it goes the same some could be in Daytona mid August.
Any updates on Hendrick? I heard he had a non-covid illness. He’s been out for a while. Is it mono or something?
