I thought Johnson’s homer was a 3 run homer not a grand slam. I think he got his 4th RBI later in the game.

It was. Brain fart. I corrected it (the article. the brain farts will continue)

Why hasn’t Barrero been playing lately?

Is he injured, or is David Bell managing the AAA team now, as well?

He’s with the Reds on the road trip on their taxi squad. So he’s just kind of hanging out in a hotel in Chicago and St. Louis.

I believe Farmers wife is about to have a baby so he’s on the taxi squad waiting for that to happen

There are so many prospects to be excited about! It’s surprising how many middle infielders we seem to be developing. I’m a little more nervous about our future OF, specifically CF. Sani doesn’t seem to cutting it, but Hurtubise might be a surprise guy. He’s definitely got some wheels with those 36 SB. Also if we assume that India stays at 2B, and Barrero at SS, maybe McLain could play CF. Personally I like India at 3B, and McLain 2B. That would be the best infield defensively, but CF? Oh well questions for a couple of years down the road.

I really like this whole Mark Kolozsvary coming around with the bat thing that’s gone on this year. If the Reds don’t pickup Barnhart’s option, I think he’d be an alright backup to Stephenson next year.

Since Bell and the organization tend to let players get playing time based upon contracts and prior pedigree, as well as to avoid hurting a player’s feelings by sitting that player (I.e., Suarez)- do we think Howard and Finnegan will get opportunities to pitch at the MLB level? These guys are high draft picks, and they have also actually done well at times in the minors recently

If Johnny Damon had the arm to play center field then literally everyone has the arm to play center field.

      • DaveCT

I do not believe there is any evidence Damon actually had a throwing arm.

      • DaveCT

That’s very generous, Mr. Gray. Having witnessed Sox and Yanks games far more than I ever thought possible
(Pminors, too), Johnny Damon could run and go get the ball, of course. But he’d have to run the ball to the nearest fielder for a throw.

      • Doug Gray

He could run. And he could hit. He had the weakest arm I’ve ever seen from a big leaguer. It wasn’t even on par with Paul O’Neill’s left foot.
