Doug, what are your thoughts on (not-that-long-ago Reds’ minor leaguer) Tyler Stephenson’s rookie season? How far up the rookie rankings ladder should he be in the national league? I know he wasn’t the pretty much every single day player that India was, but how much do your factor in that the catcher position isn’t all that easy, easy at all, and the days off can take you out of a rhythm?

not Doug but I would rank Tyler 5th – after Rogers, Anderson and Wisdom. Catching is incredibly difficult by itself – which his Rookie year is quite an accomplishment just for being competent at that all year – but I think he could have helped by getting more at-bats in left field and first base. Wish the Reds would have tried this more in spring training.

Fingers Crossed that Barerro makes it back-to-back Reds Rookies of the year in 2022 – wishing him good health.
