No real comments, just a plug for signing up for Patreon. I much prefer reading this in the late evening rather than waiting until morning. And the extra information gives a more complete picture of the Reds farm system than this writeup.

I’m assuming both Confidan and Torres are hurt. Neither have played in almost a week

Keep asking Bdh, someone’s eventually gonna know the answer. :/

    • Doug Gray

Torres is back tonight. Confidan should be back shortly – minor leg injury.

Doubtful, but it’d be nice to see Hopkins bumped to AAA to take the spot of whatever OF the Reds call up to take Aquino’s roster spot (wishful thinking, I don’t think the Reds are going to DFA Aquino. They’re holding on tight to August of 3 years ago).

Doubtful they call anyone up since they need to cut two from roster next week.

Until yesterday when they brought Moose back for Lodolo, those were always going to be pitchers. I’m pretty sure they were at 15/13 pitcher/position, so they’d have to cut two pitchers to be at 13/13

Wasn’t the allowable number of pitchers increased to 14 during May before dropping to 13? Thought I read that somewhere.

      • Doug Gray

MLB and the MLBPA extended the 14-pitchers on a roster through the end of May. Originally it was supposed to drop to 13 when the rosters went to 26, but now it’ll stay at 14 through the end of May.

Also, fun fact – Friday will be Luis Castillo’s first ever start at the AAA level.

On bright side for Dragons last night the hitters got the experience of hitting against big league pitching (Blake Snell for rehab start) and Nick Hanson had his first good outing of the year.
