Stuart Fairchild had another big night for Louisville, James Free crushed two home runs in Chattanooga’s win, J.V. Martinez got on base four times and was one of four Dayton Dragons to homer in their win, and Donovan Antonia had another multi-hit game out in Arizona as he raised his average to .435 early in the season.

Pretty decent bounce back game for Abbott, after getting absolutely rocked last time out.
Be nice to see Williamson make put another good start together. With the scarcity of arms in Louisville (especially with Lively hitting the IL), someone might need promoted whenever Lodolo finishes rehab and vacates a rotation spot.
Gilliam should get promoted with whatever arm moves up.
BA had an article a few weeks back discussing Williamson’s struggles, particularly with his fastball.

Wonder how many times two players on the same team have hit right and left handed home runs in the same game the same week.. James Free last night matched Isiah Gilliam from earlier in the week.
Add Free to the list of minor leagues who snuck up on me. I have not checked out his bio or payed attention him in the box scores until today/yesterday. If you take out his 5 game AAA call up his numbers look even better.
Does anyone know how he is defensively? It would be nice to see him, Nelson and Vellojin compete to grab the back up catcher job by 24. Assuming they keep Stephenson at C, I really want a good defensive C as the back up. Catching Ashcraft and Greene does not look easy, and I’d rather not have my best offensive player doing it. Stephenson can DH those days, for a 60/40 split in C duties.
Just curious is Free the son of former NBA player World B Free? ?
Not unless his mother is very pale.
His defense at catcher and first is very average at best.
Gilliam and Hopkins are both a bit older than their peers which I assume relates to the lost Covid season. Hopefully they can move up soon. Santana has been putting up decent numbers. Maybe it’s time to see if he can hit in the majors.
There’s some logjam issues ahead of Santana but he’s only 25 years old and hitting well in AAA. He was also the #15 Dodgers prospect in 2020. Maybe the trade deadline will clear out some space for him.
