I like Minier down in AZ. No real reason other than he has a better chance of success, that it looks like he may need. The same with Cabrera and Valencia in the DSL. So be it. It happens All The Time.
Allen Cerda hitting .308/.500/.846 since promotion to AA
Nick Quintana’s numbers are equally impressive since they both were promoted to Double A. Hopefully they can both keep it rolling.
It’s time for DLC and Boyle to go to Chattanooga. Hernandez can be the SS at Dayton coming off his rehab assignment or move Torres over to SS. Cooper and Rivera can slot into the rotation at Dayton. Chattanooga should have Free, McGarry, Urbaez, DLC, McLain, Hopkins, Siani and Cerda with Quintana(R)or Hurtubise(L) as DH in the lineup on most days in the 2nd half of the season. Quintana can rotate at 3B with McLain and DLC and Hurtubise can rotate in the OF. Johnson down to Dayton to regain his stroke.
Agree with all of this. Time to push them a bit. I read where dodgers had 2 of their 2021 college draft picks in triple A already. You’re not helping a player if he is unhittable at the level or they are hitting close to 1000 ops.
This lineup seems dangerous!
1 Hurtubise (L) RF
2 McLain (R) 2B
3 De La Cruz (S) SS
4 McGarry (L) 1B
5 Cerda (R) LF
6 Free (S) C
7 Quintana (R) 3B
8 Siani (L) CF
9 Urbaez (R) DH
I want McLain as our future 2B, and slide India over to 3B. If they give Barrero a shot at SS, and he fails, De La Cruz should continue the reps at SS, so he could take over in 24.
Reds minor league pitchers have been giving up a ton of hits and runs the last couple weeks. Very few single digit run games lately – especially at Dayton.
And per usual, minor leaguers are striking out a ton this year. That can’t stay like that once they hit double and triple A. If they think those pitchers are tough they haven’t seen anything yet.
Do we have any arms in the system that have high leverage stuff for the late innings in relief that aren’t first being tried out as starters like Williamson and Boyle?
I believe Donovan Benoit in Dayton has the stuff you are looking for.
Have you heard anything about Brian Rey? He’s about due back.
Nope. Also haven’t asked.
