Since they can’t trade for Mahle due to his vaccination status I think the blue jays will try to overpay and get Montas. If that happens then hopefully the Yankees try to jump in a bidding war with the Twins and for some reason the rangers to land Mahle. He’d be the top pitcher left on the market and worth a good bit

Off topic but with Castillo and likely Mahle being traded who does everyone thing will start opening day next year? Any way too early guesses? I’d go with Lodolo

I could see Marte starting in Chattanooga. His numbers are similar to Elly’s at Dayton. His BB/K is better, but Elly slugged more (6 triples to Marte’s zero). If he does, you’re talking an infield of Marte, de la Cruz, McLain, and McGarry. That’s a heck of an infield. And that doesn’t include Quintana, who isn’t having a bad year either.

I kind of thought Dayton since de la Cruz and McLain are already trying to share time at short. Don’t think we should forget the financial investment they have in Matt.

That’s leaving Johnson off the list too

Chattanooga could have a stupid good lineup

      C – Vellojin/Free
      1B – McGarry
      2B – McLain
      SS – De La Cruz
      3B – Marte
      LF – Hopkins/Hurtubise
      CF – Siani
      RF – Cerda
      DH – Johnson/Quintana

      P – Phillips/Abbott/Stoudt

Nice outing by Spiers. He has been a little disappointing after a nice season in Dayton. He has kind of been a little forgotten.
