Cincinnati Reds Minor League Game Review: September 17, 2026

Will Benson homered and Noelvi Marte got on base three times but the Louisville Bats dropped their third game in a row to Toledo in their loss on Thursday night.

Game Notes

After having multi-hit games in three straight games from September 2nd through 4th, Noelvi Marte didn’t have another one until Thursday night. He was optioned back to Triple-A and played his first game back on August 21st. He’s walked once time in the 23 games he’s played and struck out 20 times.

Will Benson’s home run was just his second in his last 41 games. Since August 1st he is hitting .186/.266/.279 for Louisville (40 games played).

Michael Trautwein missed the final week of April and then all of May, June, July, and August before he returned to Chattanooga on September 3rd. He joined Louisville this week. In the seven games he’s played he has had hits in five of them and walked in six of them, giving him a .469 on-base percentage in his return.

The Bats have lost three in a row to start their final series of the year. They’ve scored a total of five runs in those three losses.
