I took this idea from ProjectProspect.com, who you should be reading every week. Those guys are in Arizona for the AFL right now, so be sure to check them out often this week for sure as they will likely bring stuff that you can’t get anywhere else.

Stats From 2009

Name Miguel Rojas
AVG/OBP/SLG .273/.326/.339
Born 2/24/1989 Walk Rate 6.6%
Height 5″9″ Strikeout Rate 8.3%
Weight 175 Isolated Power .066
B/T R/R Steals 14

There is only one clip here, but I felt it was a good enough clip to break down the swing/hitting mechanics. One scout I talked with this season thought that Rojas would have to fix his hand positioning before he reaches the majors or he wouldn’t be able to hit up there. I am not sure how I feel about that because he does correct his hands before the pitch gets there. It could be a timing mechanism, but as long as he continues to get his hands corrected before the pitcher releases the ball I think he will be ok.

What do you guys think? What do you see that you like or dislike?
