Position player of the month – Devin Mesoraco

Mesoraco led the organization in OPS with a .972 OPS for the month, over 100 points better than any other regular in the system. The catcher also led the team with 5 HR’s, in OBP with a .378 mark, SLG at .594 and he also threw out 30% of the attempted base runners in the month.

Starting pitcher of the month – Aroldis Chapman

The Cuban starter has been the talk of the system since the day he signed, and while there have been some ups and downs, the lefty flat out dominated in the month of April with a 1.28 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched.  The lefty also has a 53% groundball rate so far.

Relief pitcher of the month – Donnie Joseph

Another lefty for the pitchers. Joseph has flat out dominated the Midwest League with a 0.61 WHIP and 0.79 ERA in 11.1 innings. In those same innings he has 2 walks and 18 strikeouts.
