Now that the draft is over, I needed a new weekly feature for Friday’s. This is kind of a trial and I am still open to suggestions, but I like this and may stick with it.

The first graph of the day is taking a look at someone who has really caught my eye this season with what he has done. Cody Puckett hit for a lot of power last season in Dayton, but he really had one truly impressive month and didn’t do much offensively the other months of the year. This season Puckett has hit .284/.360/.541 in Lynchburg. Here is a look at his underlying skill improvements from 2009 to 2010 so far.

Puckett has improved his walk rate, lowered his strikeout rate (thus vastly improving his K/BB rate) and improved his power output despite jumping a level of competition. He is moving his way up the rankings big time with his season so far.
