Louisville lost 3-2. Box Score

• Chris Valaika went 1-4 with a double and a run.
• Juan Francisco went 1-4 with a double and RBI.
• Devin Mesoraco went 1-3 with a walk and a solo HR (13).
• David Cook went 1-3.
• Edinson Volquez went 1-1 at the plate. He allowed 1 earned (3 total) in 7 innings with 8 strikeouts.
• Brad Boxberger and Nick Christiani each threw a scoreless inning of relief.

Game notes: Devin Mesoraco’s last 3 hits have all been solo HR’s. Edinson Volquez lowered his ERA to 2.09 for Louisville.

Carolina lost 12-7. Box Score

• Quintin Berry went 1-4 with a walk and 2 runs.
• Henry Rodriguez went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a walk, RBI and a run.
• Cody Puckett went 1-3 with a walk, HR (10) and 2 RBI.
• Bill Rhinehart went 1-4 with a run.
• Eric Campbell went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs.
• Donnie Joseph threw 1.1 scoreless innings of relief with a strikeout.

Game notes: Josh Ravin pitched well through 5 innings, but in the 6th inning he gave up an infield single and 3 straight walks before exiting the game. Kyle McCulloch then gave up back to back HR’s within 3 pitches and the Mudcats went from up 4-0 heading into the 6th to down 6-4 and Montgomery added 4 more before the inning was over. Ravin topped out at 97 MPH and worked 94-95 most of the night. Donnie Joseph was touching 95.

Bakersfield lost 5-2. Box Score

• Ryan LaMarre went 3-4 with a double and a run.
• Brodie Greene went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI.
• AJ Means went 1-3.
• Andrew Bowman and Chris Manno each threw a scoreless inning of relief with a strikeout.

Game notes: JC Sulbaran allowed 5 runs on 6 hits and a walk in 6 innings. Chris Manno has yet to allow a run since arriving in the organization 6 games ago.

Dayton lost 10-5. Box Score

• Juan Duran went 1-4 with a HR (13) and 3 RBI.
• Drew Poulk went 1-3 with a double, walk and RBI.
• Tucker Barnhart went 1-3 with a walk.
• Daniel Wolford threw 1.1 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts.

Game notes: Donald Lutz is now hitting .306/.366/.531 in the second half for Dayton (41 games – 160 at bats). Josh Smith’s second half struggles continued, allowing 4 earned in 3 innings. He has a 5.72 ERA in 45.2 second half innings.

• Nick O’Shea went 2-4 with a double and a run.

• Ryan Kemp threw 2 hitless innings with 3 strikeouts.

Game notes: Nice debut for Bryson Smith in the Pioneer League. Nick O’Shea raised his average to .314 this year.
