I got an email from the printing company last night. Books are at the UPS sorting station and on their way to me. They should start shipping on Monday, assuming they get here on the scheduled time. If you haven’t ordered yours, you might want to check out that picture above and get on that.

The Reds announced several new Spring Training invitees yesterday: RHP Daniel Corcino, RHP Nick Christiani, C Tucker Barnhart and LHP Donnie Joseph.

Baseball America has up new minor league transactions. The Reds signed a few guys and re-signed one guy. They brought back RHP Tim Gustafson and signed RHP Jean Duque, RHP John Holdzkom and C Rafael Vera. Vera seems like depth/backup at some level, Duque is a big unknown with incredibly limited time in the US. John Holdzkom is a former 4th round pick with a big arm who has thrown up to 98 MPH. However he has missed all of 2009 and 2011. He had Tommy John surgery in 2009, but I can’t find out why he missed 2011. Not sure where his stuff is at this point in his career and he has always struggled with control, but at one point he had a very live arm.

Frankie Piliere held a chat at Scout.com yesterday and had this question asked on Tony Cingrani:

Comment From Johnny:

There’s no way Tony Cingrani can stick as a starter, right? Even if it was the low minors, he straight up DOMINATED

Frankie Piliere:

Never say never but everything i hear says no. But, I want to see for myself. I have not see him in person yet.

I am not sold on Cingrani as a starter at this point yet either, but I seem to have heard something a little better than it seems Frankie has. Can’t wait to see him pitch, though I get a feeling he will head to Bakersfield and I will miss him until perhaps the second half of the year.

Some discussion for over the weekend: NFL Playoffs…. who do you have? I will go Packers, 49ers, Ravens and Patriots.
