Former Red prospect Quintin Berry led off for Toledo and reached base 4 times in the game. The Bats only had 10 hits, but also walked 10 times. After a slow start, the Bats are finally hitting. If they continue, they will put up some W’s here soon. Neftali Soto is 6 for his last 16 with 3 walks, 2 doubles and 2 home runs.

Dayton won 9-4. Box Score

  • Theo Bowe went 3-5 with 2 runs and 2 steals (8).
  • Juan Perez went 2-5 with a double, RBI and a run.
  • Ryan Wright went 1-4 with an RBI and a walk.
  • Danny Vicioso went 1-4 with a walk and a run.
  • Kyle Waldrop went 1-3 with a walk and a run.
  • Junior Arias went 1-4 with a 3 run HR (1).
  • Yovan Gonzalez went 2-4 with a solo HR (2).
  • Carlos Conteras threw 2.1 hitless innings with a walk and a strikeout.
  • Jimmy Moran threw a scoreless inning of work.

Game notes

The Dragons have put together some offense lately after a slow start. Theo Bowe may not have the same reputation as Billy Hamilton in terms of his speed, but he probably should. He is, at worst, half a step slower from the plate to first base. He now has 8 steals on the year and if he plays every day, could steal 60 bags. Nice to see Junior Arias with a bomb. He struck out at least once in his first 8 games, but hasn’t struck out in his last three. If he can hone in his plate approach, he can be a dangerous bat. The next three games will be available to watch online, for free. Check below each day for the link.
