Game notes

Cody Puckett hit a one out single in the top of the 11th and then stole second base. Dioner Navarro was intentionally walked. Miguel Rojas singled to center to plate Puckett to give the Bats the lead and then saw Brian Peacock plate Navarro on a ground out to extend the lead to 4-2. Rochester went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 11th.

Pensacola lost 8-5. Box Score

  • Didi Gregorius went 2-5 with a double and 2 runs.
  • Joel Guzman went 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI.
  • Koyie Hill went 1-4 with an RBI.
  • PJ Phillips went 2-3 with a walk and a run.

  • Stephen Hunt went 1-1 as a pinch hitter.

Game notes

JC Sulbaran struggled with his control as he walked 4 batters and gave up 5 runs in 4 innings. The Blue Wahoos tied the game up in the top of the 9th, but Curtis Partch gave up a 3 run home run in the bottom of the 9th.

Game notes

Josh Smith with easily his best start of the season. His ERA sits at 5.09 on the year, but he seems to be adjusting some as his ERA in May is 3.27 and his GO/AO ratio is more than doubled. Bryson Smith is now hitting .341 on the season and he moved ahead of Billy Hamilton for the team lead in average. Hamilton went 0-5 on the night, but was able to steal his 39th base of the season. Theo Bowe has taken a liking to the California League. He is now 7-12 with 2 home runs and a double since being promoted from Dayton.

Game notes

The Dragons bullpen gave up 4 runs between the 6th and the 8th inning to put them behind 5-3. Yovan Gonzalez led off the 9th with a solo home run, but Kyle Waldrop lined out, Sean Buckley struck out and after a Junior Arias walk, Juan Perez grounded out to end it. Jacob Johnson came back after more than a year long layoff with a shoulder injury to throw 5 strong innings.
