The Blaze scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th inning to take a 4-3 lead, but Kyle McMyne gave up a one out solo home run to see the lead erased. The two teams went scoreless until the 12th when the first 4 batters reached and plated 3 runs before the inning ended. Billy Hamilton ends the month of May with 57 steals. The win pulls Bakersfield to within 1.5 games of San Jose with just a few weeks left in the first half.

The Dragons had a walk off win thanks to a Joe Terry single that plated the hottest hitter in the system, Kurtis Muller. Muller is now hitting .475/.533/.825 with the Dragons in his first 10 games. He has 4 home runs in those 10 games, which is twice as many as he had in his first 126 professional games. Sean Buckley may be finally catching up after missing most of spring training this season.
