Baseball Prospectus released their Top 101 prospects this morning. The Cincinnati Reds landed three players on the Top 101, with Robert Stephenson leading the way among the Reds prospects.
Right handed pitcher Robert Stephenson ranked 16th on the list, up from 22 last season. While his season had some struggles, his stuff remains at an elite level. Jesse Winker followed Stephenson on the list. Winker jumped from unranked on the list last season to ranking 44th on the list heading into this season. Michael Lorenzen was the final Red that made the list. The right hander was unranked heading into the 2014 season but made it up to 63rd on the list heading into the 2015 season.
These three being ranked here isn’t much of a surprise. Before Jason Parks left to join the Chicago Cubs he released the midseason Top 50 Prospects at Baseball Prospectus and all three players were also on that list. The three were also the top three prospects in the system, with Yorman Rodriguez ranking fourth. Cuban right handed pitcher Raisel Iglesias doesn’t seem to be considered for this list (he was not on the Reds Top 10 list because they didn’t consider him for it – so I assume he also isn’t eligible here).
