T.J. Friedl didn’t play in the Dayton Dragons season opener. He was coming off of a hip flexor injury that he was dealing with at the end of spring training. In wet conditions on Thursday night he was held out of the lineup as a precaution. That game was eventually suspended and resumed on Friday evening. When the regularly scheduled game followed, Friedl was starting and in right field for the Dragons. He singled in his first at-bat on a pop up. The ball fell between fielders on the infield, but he was tagged out as he rounded the bag and couldn’t get back in time.

The next time up to the plate he didn’t leave any doubts about being out at first as he drilled a ball into the right field corner that was bobbled ever-so-slightly by the right fielder and that was all that the speedster needed. T.J. Friedl turned it into a triple, going from home-to-third base in 10.99 seconds, just beating the throw to the bag.

T.J. Friedl Triples for the Dayton Dragons

I also included some batting practice from T.J. Friedl from when I was out in Arizona. Unfortunately I didn’t get any good video of him while out there from the games, but wanted to have a little more included than just his triple from Friday night’s game.
