On Saturday the Dayton Dragons will be hosting their 20th season celebration game that will feature former Dragons players that are still in the Reds farm system playing against the 2019 Dragons team. While we don’t yet have the 2019 Dragons roster, the “alumni” roster is here, and it’s seen a few changes since the last update we had.

Pitchers Infielders
Wendolyn Bautista Brantley Bell
Carlos Machorro Alberti Chavez
Moises Nova Luis Gonzalez
Wennington Romero Gavin LaValley
Tony Santillan Carlos Rivero
Mac Sceroler Randy Ventura
Jesse Stallings Bruce Yari
Cory Thompson Outfielders
Raul Wallace Aristides Aquino
Catchers Narciso Crook
Cassidy Brown TJ Friedl
Hendrik Clementina Brian O’Grady
Jose Duarte Jose Siri
Ernesto Liberatore Andy Sugilio
Morgan Lofstrom Taylor Trammell
Tyler Stephenson

There are two notable changes from the initial team we saw. One of which was previously reported, but you may have missed it. Hunter Greene was originally scheduled to appear, but he was absent from the last update. He’s not quite ready to get out there and start his season – but he has been throwing off of the mound in Arizona and you can watch some of that from last week right here if that’s your kind of thing. The other name missing that was originally on the list when the game was announced is Jonathan India.

Alumni Roster Subtractions

Catchers and Infielders

That’s a lot of roster turnover. A lot of it is on the pitching side of things, which isn’t unexpected. Guys are on schedules so they are ready to pitch when the regular season opens. While I haven’t checked on the injury status of any player aside from Nick Senzel since I left Arizona on March 23rd, it was only Hunter Greene from the list of pitchers no longer on the roster that was not going to be ready to start the season. I saw all of those guys pitching in Arizona last week with the lone exception of Ryan Hendrix. I did not see Michael Beltre playing while in Arizona, and he was mentioned as injured when I asked about guys who were – but it’s also certainly possible that he was simply overlooked when I asked. John Sansone was among several players released.

Last I knew Raul Wallace was in RF. Is he pitching now?
