Only two teams were playing on Wednesday on the farm. Dominic Fletcher had two hits and scored two runs in Louisville’s win. Ruben Ibarra homered and set a new career high in the process for Chattanooga.

Dominic Fletcher went 1-9 in his first three games after signing with the Reds and joining the Bats. He hadn’t played in more than three weeks between his last game with the Pirates Triple-A team and his first game with Louisville. In the last two games he’s gone 2-3 with a walk and an RBI in each contest.
After allowing six runs in 4.1 innings in his first start with the Bats (after just one rehab start in Dayton after missing the last year), Carson Spiers has allowed one run in the 10.0 innings with 12 strikeouts in two starts since.
Connor Phillips has allowed just four runs (2.20 ERA) on eight hits and nine walks in his last 16.1 innings going back to August 5th. He’s struck out 23 batters in that time.

Game Notes
Ruben Ibarra hit his 22nd home run of the season in this game. That is a new career high, topping the 21 that he hit in 2025 with the Lookouts. He’s now hit 55 home runs with Chattanooga over the past three seasons (295 games).
Carlos Sanchez had hit just two home runs in the 32 games prior to the start of September. He’s now homered twice in seven games in September.
Carter Graham continues to just pile up hit after hit. He’s now hitting .357/.471/.536 in September and has his OPS up to .913 in Double-A.
The same thing can be said for Alfredo Duno. Since returning from the injured list in late August after missing a month he’s gone 16-42 (.381) and his OPS through 29 games with Chattanooga is sitting at .907.
Austin Hendrick had two 3-hit games in the first nine games of the season. He didn’t have another one until this game. His five runs batted in matched a career high. It was the 4th time he’s driven in five in his career. The other three times came last season – also with Chattanooga.

How has Spiers stuff been; the results are promising?
Carter Graham with a .913 OPS in AA over 246 PA now.
It would be nice to know a more about CG! What changes did he make that led to his breakout this year. I know that he will turn 25 on the 17th of this month but if he can do this the first half of next year at AAA he may be ready help the Reds in the 2nd half.
He’s sitting 10th in the league for OPS with the PA’s, so I’d call that sustained success. Next stop, Louisville, 2027. All aboard.
Carlos Jorge is just two thousandths behind for the batting title, .332 to .330, but the other player is now in AAA and will qualify. It would have been cool to see him win the title but I’m going to go out on a limb and say he’ll stick with getting to the ML’s as a consolation.
Phillips seems to be harnessing the command a little bit. He doesn’t have a history of surrendering the home run ball so his achille’s heel is the walks. A 2:1 K/BB ratio plays in the bigs much of the time for relievers. He’s not far off, just has to carry that over next spring where he’ll likely get a chance to make the club.
After what I saw from Banfield last night defensively, it will be hard to convince me that Duno isn’t ready for the show on Opening Day.

Graham and Duno are the guys getting closer to the big leagues as things stand now…It would be interesting if Reds will start Duno in Triple-A next season or they will be cautious sending him back to Double-A… Graham should be a Triple-A player next season for sure due to his age…
My gut was saying both should start in AA, but IDK, Graham might be ready for AAA to start 2027. At the end of the day, I will be excited if one or both are ready to make their Reds debuts by the end 2027.
I hope the development people place a high importance on Duno’s defense becoming ML ready and, more so, that the front office listens to them.
Struggling on defense at catcher in the ML’s, if that were to happen, just seems like a set-up for other problems.
I do think Duno seems pretty together for his age and might not end up hopelessly flailing like Marte. But it just seems to me that getting him baseline competent to catch ML pitching and at least help call the game are priorities.
Even then, it’ll take a year, possibly two catching in the majors before he settles in defensively (if Stephenson can be used as a comp).
Unlike Elly and Burns and probably Stewart, who are so talented that we have to tolerate letting them develop in the majors, I have reservations about doing that with a catcher. Duno might be so good that I change that. But i don’t think being a little cautious isn’t unwarranted.
Lots of ifs for next season. Especially with the lockout.
Pretending like there is no lockout… I don’t think Duno makes opening day roster and starts in Chattanooga due to his catching ability. He needs more time to refine the skills but may end up as a late season call up like Jose Jorge this season.
Graham will most likely start in Louisville. Call up sometime mid-season if he performs well in AAA. Will depend on the teams health though.
If there is a lockout/walkout next year, I wonder how ST will go. Will they still use the main ST fields for minors games or be like complex league and mostly play at one of the practice fields.
Daytona is about to make a quick and ugly outing in the playoffs. They are trailing 13-2 in the bottom of the 8th.
Dayton is hoping force a third game. They lead 3-0 after 3. Kyle McCoy started and gave the Dragons 4 scoreless innings.
Kyle Henley tripled into the right field corner to knock in 2 runs. That man can fly.
