Cincinnati Reds Minor League Game Review: September 9, 2026

Only two teams were playing on Wednesday on the farm. Dominic Fletcher had two hits and scored two runs in Louisville’s win. Ruben Ibarra homered and set a new career high in the process for Chattanooga.

Game Notes

Dominic Fletcher went 1-9 in his first three games after signing with the Reds and joining the Bats. He hadn’t played in more than three weeks between his last game with the Pirates Triple-A team and his first game with Louisville. In the last two games he’s gone 2-3 with a walk and an RBI in each contest.

After allowing six runs in 4.1 innings in his first start with the Bats (after just one rehab start in Dayton after missing the last year), Carson Spiers has allowed one run in the 10.0 innings with 12 strikeouts in two starts since.

Connor Phillips has allowed just four runs (2.20 ERA) on eight hits and nine walks in his last 16.1 innings going back to August 5th. He’s struck out 23 batters in that time.

• Alfredo Duno went 2-5 with a run and an RBI.
• Ruben Ibarra went 1-3 with 2 walks, a home run (22), and 3 runs scored.
• Yerlin Confidan went 1-3 with a walk, double, and a run.
• Austin Hendrick (pictured above) went 3-4 with a a home run (16) and 5 RBI.

Game Notes

Ruben Ibarra hit his 22nd home run of the season in this game. That is a new career high, topping the 21 that he hit in 2025 with the Lookouts. He’s now hit 55 home runs with Chattanooga over the past three seasons (295 games).

Carlos Sanchez had hit just two home runs in the 32 games prior to the start of September. He’s now homered twice in seven games in September.

Carter Graham continues to just pile up hit after hit. He’s now hitting .357/.471/.536 in September and has his OPS up to .913 in Double-A.

The same thing can be said for Alfredo Duno. Since returning from the injured list in late August after missing a month he’s gone 16-42 (.381) and his OPS through 29 games with Chattanooga is sitting at .907.

Austin Hendrick had two 3-hit games in the first nine games of the season. He didn’t have another one until this game. His five runs batted in matched a career high. It was the 4th time he’s driven in five in his career. The other three times came last season – also with Chattanooga.
